No Matter The Size, Every Donation Makes a Difference

Project Stepping Stone is funded by private donations, monies raised from a yearly Dessert Auction and Annual Campaign, grants, and contributions from the three churches which oversee the program. All funds raised from the Dessert Auction and Annual Campaign go directly into paying for the rent, utilities and upkeep of Project Stepping Stone’s three houses. This allows the families to stay in the houses for free, with the hope that they can pay off debts and save money for a more stable future. As the economic situation continues there are many families that are on the brink of homelessness – moving often as they stay with friends and family. Without some respite these families often stay in this pattern for years, or become homeless. PSS wants to stop this from happening and offer them a way of saving for a more stable future

All monetary and item/service donors are thanked with an official letter and all donations can be considered a tax-deductable contribution. For the Dessert Auction, all donors are publicly thanked on the flyer listing the auction items as well as verbally during the auction, which is attended by about 150 people.

“Thank you one and all of Project Stepping Stone. Your generosity and willingness to do God’s work has helped us so much.”

“I don’t know where I would have lived if it wasn’t for this amazing program. This program gave me and my kids a stable home to live in. There are no words I can express how thankful I am for everything.”

Project Stepping Stone is an organization that is ran by the community for the community. Ran through faith in grace and compassion, we believe that by providing these families with a stable and safe place to rest their heads, they can focus on building their future. Give What You Can

“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.” – 2 Peter 1:5-8

Project Stepping Stone is always in need of kindhearted individuals, who are willing to donate their time as volunteers. If you are willing to volunteer your time or old house hold goods such as furniture or food, Please click the volunteer button above.

Thanks for your interest in supporting Project Stepping Stone! There are many ways to connect into our mission, based on your interests.

One-time volunteer – Join us on a House Work Day to help clean, paint and do yard work. These dates are scheduled as needed, generally after a family has left the house. Or, let us know your particular skill set and we’ll give you a call whenever we need the sink fixed, or the porch stained. Or, help us plan the Dessert Auction!

Join the board – As an all-volunteer organization, or board members are active in determining policies and fundraising, but also hands-on work of on-going house maintenance and mentoring families. It’s always a challenge, but it is very rewarding.

Donate stuff – Project Stepping Stone frequently needs towels & sheets & kitchen supplies. We less frequently need couches, chairs, dining room tables and other large furniture. Drop us an email and ask what we’re needing at the moment!

Donate money – With three older houses, maintenance is on-going, and there’s always the electric bills and gas bills. Money donated to Project Stepping Stone goes directly to paying these costs, as well as other costs related to running a non-profit. These costs may sound mundane, but they’re what allows us to offer the homes rent-and-utility-free to the PSS residents.
